Lumos Helmet Kickstart Black with MIPS 2019
MIPS stands for " Multi-directional Impact Protection System ". The result of years of research, the combination of natural brain protection with MIPS offers better protection against oblique impacts.
Brain imitation
MIPS mimics the way the brain protects itself by giving the helmet its own layer of low friction between the outer shell and the lining.
Low friction layer
In a MIPS helmet, the shell and the lining are separated by a low friction layer, allowing the helmet to slide relative to the head during an oblique impact.
Oblique impact
Conventional helmets are tested by dropping the helmet vertically on a flat surface. MIPS helmets are designed to face the real conditions of an accident, with oblique impacts on the head.
