Perfectly balanced, the BACKLAND 85 from Atomic is a touring ski that adapts to all mountain excursions. It is indeed the most versatile model in the Backland range, which perfectly combines performance both uphill and downhill.
Intended for all touring skiers, this ski is light, easy to climb and, with its 85 mm waist, offers good lift in powder while being robust, with solid edges. In addition to its specific shape for hiking and HRZN Tech tip technology, this ski consists of an Ultra Light Woodcore wood core made from poplar and Karuba. In addition, the shape of the ski guarantees easy climbs and a secure grip, even during long crossings, while the carbon fibers integrated along the ski provide more stability.
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS :
Construction :
Construction: Cap Sidewall with full edges
Ultra Light Woodcore: The incredible lightness of Poplar and Karuba woods reduces weight without compromising downhill performance.
Carbon Backbone: ultra light carbon insert that acts as a stabilizer - HRZN Tech Tip: increases the surface of the tip by 10%.
All Mountain Rocker 15/85/0: for all types of snow and terrain, both on and off piste. An ultra-versatile rocker thanks to the slight lifting of the tip alone.
HRZN Tech spatula: 10% increase in spatula surface area, which provides more lift without increasing rotational inertia.
Ski - Size Chart
First of all there is no golden rule to determine the correct ski length. It depends on your skiing abilities, weigth, length and type of ski. But as a rule of thumb we provide the table below which is a good starting point to find your correct length.
Example: If you start getting in to freeriding, take a ski which is approximately 5 cm shorter then your own length.
